Growing up, I remember the joy of Saturday morning action cartoons, sci-fi shows, martial arts, comic books, and the classic "boy brand" franchises—from Star Trek to Star Wars. My love for these kinds of stories stayed with me through my teenage years and continues to this day.
While there were a handful of books in these genres, as a Christian teen I clearly remember searching for faith-based television and film options and finding very few, if any.
Later, as a young Christian actress, I experienced the lack of faith-based teen productions from the other side of the camera. I wanted to be part of exciting, youth-oriented projects that aligned with my faith and values, particularly in the action and adventure genres, but opportunities were limited.
My love of storytelling eventually led me into media and television production, where I spent years working in various roles behind the scenes. Yet even while working in the industry, the desire remained to see more faith-based stories in the action, adventure, and science-fiction genres—and to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Crew: Undercover was born from that gap.
Over the course of several years, the series has been developed, refined, and expanded into a larger world of characters, stories, and future possibilities. Today, with the growth of streaming and increasing demand for quality faith-based entertainment, there is an opportunity to reach young audiences in ways that were not possible before.
My prayer—and my modern-day mission field—is simple: to create stories that point young people toward identity in Christ, courage and purpose while making a meaningful difference for the Kingdom of Christ.
